Thank you for your interest in Life Community Home Educators. We are a non-profit Homeschool Support Group that is governed by Christian Principles, therefore, our first priority is to honor and glorify Jesus Christ.
Most of our activities are geared specifically for our school age children, but there are times when preschoolers can participate as well. We do not expect you to attend all of the planned activities. Choose ones that are of interest to you & your family.
Our organization is a ministry of Life Community Church. We abide by its doctrinal statement.
WE HAVE BEEN ORGANIZED TO
- Honor and glorify our Lord Jesus Christ (Colossians 3:17)
- Train and nurture our children in the admonition of the Lord (Proverbs 22:6)
- Provide encouragement and support to those choosing home education for their families. (Hebrews 10:24)
- Diligently prepare & educate our
- Children, providing constructive, conservative, & corporate activities for the students and families. (Ephesians 6:4)
- Provide support for our local church. (Ephesians 4:1-16)
OUR GOALS ARE
- To recognize parents’ God-given authority over their children and responsibility for them (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)
- Diligence in moral and ethical instruction and behavior for our children (2 Corinthians 6:14)
- Preservation of freedom of choice in education (Colossians 2:20)
- Educational excellence (Colossians 1:28-29)
- Responsible citizenship (Ephesians 5:15-16)
WHAT IS LCHE
LIfe Community Home Educators started out of the desire for a positive and rewarding relationship while educating our children. It is important we develop close relationships with other homeschool parents, therefore, harmony within our group is essential. We can keep our group "unified" by agreeing with our Mission Statement and applying it to our lives and our group.
HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER
- Agree with and sign our Mission Statement, along with your spouse
- Adhere to the principles of Biblical faith by which this support group is operated
- Complete member application
WHEN ARE THE DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES DISCUSSED/
We encourage parents to attend Teachers' Support Meetings. We meet on the second Thursday of each month at Life Community Church from 7pm to 9pm. In these meetings we will discuss future activities and situations in our daily homeschooling. Childcare is not provided
WHAT KIND OF ACTIVITIES DOES YOUR GROUP OFFER?
Annual kick-off celebration, Field trips, Park Days, Holiday Celebrations, Talent Showcase, Youth Hang Time, and an Annual Promotion Night Service in May.
DOES YOUR GROUP DO STANDARIZED TESTING?
Yes. We perform IOWA State Testing in April of each year at Life Community Church. You must be a member of our group by December 31st to qualify for testing. Please note that there is a fee for the test. If your child is being tested with our group, we ask you to serve as a tester, proctor or childcare worker.
