SUNDAY LIFE GROUPS BIBLE STUDIES - The central element of our Discipleship plan is Sunday Life Groups. It is only at the small group level that you will begin to build relationships with the Word and the people of God. Sunday Morning Life Groups are the community of our church. It's where friendships are born. It's the place where we are prayed over. It's where laughter & tears are shared. Through these dynamic fellowships we not only learn about God together, but the experiences we share outside of Bible study form a tightly woven tapestry of relationships that will last for eternity.
THE MINISTRY CENTER - Life Groups are also the center of ministry for our church. Every class is asked to have a Teacher, Fellowship leader, Outreach leader, Care leader, Prayer/worship leader, and a Ministry leader. These leaders help the class maintain a healthy balance of learning and applying God's Word.
EVERY AGE - From preschoolers to senior adults, Sunday Morning Bible Study is an adventure that touches every age. Never been to Sunday Morning Bible Study, or haven't been in a while?" We encourage you to join a class this Sunday. If you take just one small step in that direction, our class leaders and members will meet you more than halfway. You'll find a place of learning & encouragement. And you will grow spiritually & personally!
At LIFE Community Church we have a variety of types of small groups for you to get involved in

ADULT MINISTRY (9:00am)
COVENANT KEEPERS
Hello, I am Brian Newell, leader of the Convenant Keepers Sunday School class. I would like to invite you to attend our class if you are not currently involved in another class at our church. We are mostly a couples class, but also have singles and members with home bound spouses. Our class members range in age from mid thirties to mid seventies with the average age being 40-50 so we are able to share and minister in many different areas of people's lives. Our class is a discussion type format and we have monthly socials in order to get to know each other and become a closer family. We invite you to study God's Word with us as we grow and learn together.
DISCOVERY
This class meets during the first hour every Sunday morning & puts together a good fellowship, life experiences and God's Word to form a delightful class. The class core includes married couples in the "delightful" years of having time and energy to reach out to others in need. However, we are increasing our diversity with many single and/or younger members. As a result, those in the class range from 17 to 85! All who attend our class enjoy our warm and welcome atmosphere and join the journey in "discovering" our potential for the Lord. We have developed such potential with outreach projects. One project is supporting a couple in our class who are responsible for meeting all the needs of a refugee family. Another involves sewing "dog bone" pillows for cancer patients in a local hospital. And, on a continual basis, the class provides financial support for various needs identified throughout the year. Discovery is a casual and interactive class. Come and discover how "Discovery" can be for you!
LIFEchoir
LifeChoir is a great ministry opportunity for all of our new members. This exciting musical group leads in worship during our 10:30 a.m. service each week. LifeChoir also shares during the 9:00 a.m. service one Sunday per month (usually on the first Sunday of the month). There are two rehearsal opportunities each week. The Wednesday evening rehearsal begins at 6:30 p.m and the Sunday afternoon rehearsal gets underway at 4:45 p.m. Both rehearsals cover the same music so you have the option to choose the time that works best for your schedule. The ability to read music is not a requirement and you do not have to audition to become a part of this group. We feel that this is a great opportunity for husbands and wives to serve together. You are invited to become a part of this exciting music ministry as we work together to serve Him with our talents.
LIGHT KEEPERS
Our lessons are from the LifeWay Master Work collection. We are finishing the study of The Prodigal Son by John MacArthur. Our next lessons are by Michael Catt and Ravi Zacharias. Great material all based on lessons from God's Word - the Bible. Let's connect, grow, serve and go as we learn together reflecting HIS light for all to see!
MERCY
Room 228 - Women ages 40 & up / Taught by Vivian Purvis (294-5685)
This Ladies Bible Study Class meets at 9:00 AM each Sunday for fellowship and to learn and apply God’s Word in a practical way. As a group of mature women we encourage one another to become the women of God we are called to be. Our focus is on learning to take the instruction of Scripture and applying it to our daily walk. In this fast paced world it is needful to slow down with several like minded women each week and share what God has been doing in each others lives. It is a chance to learn some basic action steps that might lead to new ministry outlets within Life. Join us as we strive to create a place where women can share with other women about issues women face in today’s trying times. Please consider joining us for this enjoyable time of study, prayers and fellowship.
SIGNS OF LIFE
Room 226 - Deaf of all ages / Taught by Ray Bryson
This is a Bible study class for Deaf adults that meets every Sunday morning. This class is taught using sign language by a Hearing teacher. We meet immediately after the early worship service.
YOUNG AT HEART
We are a class of mature, but young at heart, Christians who enjoy studying the Bible, fellowshipping with one another and praising God. We have a very knowledgeable teacher, Dorman Gregory, who weaves everyday life into his lessons in a most amusing way.
ADULT MINISTRY (10:30am)
COUPLES FOR CHRIST
This small group will enable you to build relationships with the Word and the people of God. Sunday Life Groups are the place where we are prayed over. It's where laughter & tears are shared. Through these dynamic fellowships we not only learn about God together, but the experiences we share outside of Bible study form a tightly woven tapestry of relationships that will last for eternity. The Couples for Class group meets to understand how God wants us to live & to impact the people around us.
DISCIPLES
The class has a mix of couples and singles with an age range from the twenties to forties. They are a friendly and talkative group with a discussion format on most Sundays. They have class fellowships every other month or so. The goal is to grow through study of God's Word and sharing with each other in class and out. They seek to meet each others needs and welcome in new members to the class.
EXHORTERS
The name says it all! We come together to encourage each other in the struggles that life brings to each of us. We rejoice with each other over the good things in each of our lives and we study the scriptures together to find the application of each principle in God’s Word.
LIVING STONES
This small group consists primarily of couples in their 30’s and 40’s. As Christ-followers, we are all striving to live missional lives in a secular society and our time together is focused on rightly understanding the Word of God and rightly applying it in a post-modern world. Understanding that virtually every aspect of our society (family, business, finance, political) is secularized and acknowledging that God has divinely and uniquely placed us in the midst of our own personal subset of this society, we desire to be faithful to our responsibility to make the name of Jesus famous. Our weekly time together is focused on learning how to be most effective in communicating the gospel to the people God has placed us in relationship with for this purpose. Please join us.
MarriedLIFE
Are you young and married? Is the honeymoon over and are you having a hard time adjusting to married life? This class is designed to build a strong foundation early in your marriage. Even if you have been married for several years it will help you to learn ways to deepen your relationships with each other and with God. We also explore real issues every couple deals with and we learn how to cope with each other’s differences. This class meets about once a month for a class fellowship. Also, we get together several Sundays a month for an impromptu lunch after church. This is a great time to get to know other couples and develop friendships that will last a lifetime. Darin and Tami Carr, teachers for the MarriedLIFE class, have been married for 23 years and have ministered to younger couples for about 17 of those years. Their passion is working with young couples in an effort to help lay a foundation that will weather the storms of life. Having weathered many storms themselves, they have a faith that is built on the solid Rock of Jesus Christ and they communicate truth in a very real, personal and applicable way.
SINGLE ADULTS
We understand that scripture instructs us to hold each other accountable, to pray for each other, to comfort, to encourage, to challenge each other. We do not see how those can happen effectively in a large group of believers – so we are committed to Connecting to others in a smaller more intimate setting. We do not lock anyone into a class due to age – you can choose any small group based on teacher, style, and dynamics. If one class is not one you can connect to … try another. We are planning and hope to add weekday options in the future.
SWEET FRAGRANCE
The Sweet Fragrance class is a mixture of women from all walks of life who come together to discuss not only the Word of God but how to apply that in our individual lives. We offer support and encouragement to each other every week. Under the direction of Kathy Peschell as facilitator, we are currently studying from the book, Christos: God's Transforming Touch, and plan to begin a study on Friendship over the summer. A prayer time to lift up the needs of the class is held the last Sunday of each month. The class also gets together for lunch after church at a local restaurant the first Sunday of every month, with children always welcome (Husbands too, but they are delegated to a separate table)
YOUNG MARRIED
Room 229 - Engaged / newly married / Taught by Chris Shrewsbury (cshrew@yahoo.com)
We are a very casual and fun-loving class that seeks to build a stronger relationship with God that's marked by dedication and obedience to Him. We think that God's blessing from the pursuit of Him will also strengthen our relationships with each other. There are many young couples who are on the same journey and are sharing similar experiences in which we all seek insight from God's word for guidance. If you visit our fellowship you will probably smell some good food, hear laughter all around and feel welcomed almost immediately as we reflect on God's word for spiritual edification. We encourage small group bible study outside of class to build relationships and we do fellowship activities quite regularly that build community within the class.
