Men,

As I look into my life as a man and more importantly as a man of God, I am amazed at just how important my contact with other men has become in my life. Think about it, as men, we almost unconsciously wonder through half of our lives thinking we can conquer everything and then one day we wake up and it hits us. Why have I worked so hard to accomplish everything on my own when there are men all around me going through the same every day trials?

Help has always been next door, beside us at work, or no more than a phone call away. Think of what we could have accomplished had we just reached out to the men around us. This is highlighted even more as we look into our personal relationship with our Savior. Without those sturdy men around us, mentoring us, working side by side with us, and holding us accountable, we will never fully accomplish what God has planned for us.

The Men’s Ministry is here for this very purpose, to help each other reach our full potential in serving Christ, our Church, and our community. We can join together on Monday nights at visitation at 6:30pm. It’s a great way to really develop close friendships with couple other men and meet guest who have visited our Church for the first time. We feature large men’s events such as our annual Sportsman’s Banquet, Myrtle Beach Golf Outing, and Promise Keepers to allow an entry level place for you to bring your friends, neighbors and co workers to an activity. We also have

ongoing events like men’s breakfast, pick-up basketball games, work teams, and disaster recovery relief teams as ways to get involved.

I invite and encourage you to get plugged in and start your journey alongside us as we strive to be the men God has called us to be. You will discover blessings beyond measure and be amazed at what we men can accomplish together. If you would like more information please call or drop me an email.

Director of Men’s Ministries

Men’s Fraternity (no session at this time)

This is led by our Senior Pastor Jake Thornhill. A vital part of this program will be the breakout groups facilitated by other staff Pastors and Lay leaders in our Church. These teams are designed to allow men to share their own thoughts and build relationships with other men. Meeting times will be from 6:00am to 7:30am each Wednesday morning. If you are a man of LIFE you do not want to miss this great opportunity. If you have a friend, a neighbor or co-worker invite them to join you.

Sportsmen’s Banquet (September 2009)

Are you ready to take your taste buds to the next level with our annual wild game tasting adventure? This is a night of manly foods, challenging presentations, humor, fellowship and great giveaways. This event will sell out! It is limited by the number of seats we can fit into our auditorium, so order your tickets as soon as you can. Each year an exciting national speaker is brought in who has a heart for the outdoors and the things of God. Contact person is Ron Foister 299-9341

Men’s Golf Retreat

This is another event that sells out quickly! Days spent on the links down at the coast, evenings together learning insights into God’s will for our lives. This is the perfect blend of time together involved in activity and fellowship. Take the time to find a man who has attended this outing and listen to their report about the best golf outing they have ever had. Whether you are a scratch golfer or a duffer, each round allows for fair teams and fun play. Contact person is Donnie Newton 451-7333.

Basketball Briefcase Brigade

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning when the gym is available, a group of men in route to a hard day’s work, put their tennis shoes on and play basketball before heading to work. Our facility has a men’s locker room to get ready for work after a good workout. These men are on the court at 6:00am and are gone by 8:oo am. It is open pick-up games and you are invited to grab your shoes and start your day with some energy. The contact person is Jack Bailey 601 1033.
