New Opportunities

Posted by Jake Thornhill, Jr. on

2019… A new year with new opportunities! Another chapter in the book of our life has been completed, and we stand on the threshold of an exciting, life-changing adventure because of the indwelling Christ. There are things He wants us to do, places He wants us to go, and people He wants us to meet. The possibilities are endless as we step out by faith and trust Him.

Our ground breaking on the new children’s wing was delayed because of the unprecedented snowfall in December, but we’ll begin to see the future unfold this month as Landmark begins to dig the foundation. Buildings don’t reach people -- people reach people.  But this children’s addition and renovation of our existing children's wing will be a powerful tool to impact our community.

The heart of LCC is to “lead an ever-changing community to find fulfillment in following the never-changing Christ.” It’s our goal this year for all of our Sunday morning Life Groups to adopt a specific area - preferably in a neighborhood of some of their members - to impact with prayer and outreach events. We also are encouraging all of our Life Groups to spend group time in getting to know each other through fellowship, teaching truth through Bible study and spending quality time on how to apply God’s truth in our lives and in the community.

If you are not in a Life Group, the new year is a great time to start. Life Groups meet at 9:00am and 10:30am each Sunday. If you are already in a Life Group, pray about starting and helping lead a new Life Group. Church growth occurs through small groups that learn together and serve together. God is going to grow His church for His glory this year, and we want you to be a part of it. Let’s not be spectators but participators - not consumers but contributors. And when you stand in the presence of Christ, you’ll be glad you did!

As we begin a new year, please pray that we will guard our hearts, be sensitive to God’s Spirit, and obey God’s direction for His church. In the words of William Carey, “Let’s expect great things from God and attempt great things for God.”

For the King and His Kingdom,

Pastor Jake
